Information and Audition Requirements
The Irish National Academy of the Arts (INAA) will be Ireland’s first full-time, industry-led performing arts conservatory, offering a seamless pathway from secondary school through degree-level training to professional careers. We aim to expand and evolve Ireland’s performing arts landscape by providing world-class, industry-led conservatory training that merges academic rigour with direct professional pathways, empowering the next generation of performers to excel on Irish and international stages. We build the training and performance opportunities for Irish performers to stay in Ireland.
Auditions
Candidates, parents, and/or guardians will be welcomed by INAA staff and our team. Your audition day will include opportunities to ask questions, learn more about the programme, and meet our team.
Auditions will take place at Backstreet Dance Studios: Unit 8, Columba House, Nevinstown Lane, Airside, Swords, Co Dublin. Ireland. K67 KH96
In-person audition, Ages 15+
Your Day Will Consist Of:

A welcome session with staff.
-
Two classes: Ballet, Jazz, commercial and or Acting Workshop (see clothing guidance below).

An individual audition including:
-
2 contrasting songs
-
A dance solo and/or monologue (depending on your focus)

An informal interview with a panel member.
Live Audition Structure For Musical Theatre Diploma (18+):

Ballet Class and or Acting Workshop
-
Jazz Dance Class or Commercial Dance Class
-
2 Contrasting Songs (1.5 Minutes each)
-
Solo Dance (optional) (1–2 minutes)

Solo Monologue (1.5-2 minutes)

Registration Fee: €30
Day of Auditions
9:30am: Registration and Introduction
10:00am - 11:00: Ballet Class
11:00am - 11:30pm: Acting Improv Class
11:30pm - 12:30: Commercial Class
(*Dance classes are to see what level you are)
12:30-1:00 Lunch and get ready for individual auditions.
1:00- onwards Singing, Acting, & Solo Dance auditions.
Your audition time slot will be given to you once payment has been made.
Self-tape Auditions (Diploma only ages 18+)
(If you are not able to attend In-Person)
Please submit the following materials:

Acting: 2 Contrasting Monologues

Singing: 2 contrasting musical theatre songs (one lyrical, one up-tempo). Record up to 90 seconds of each. Clearly mark your 16–32 bar cut.

Dance: 1 solo in any style of your choice (maximum 1 ½ minutes). Form-Fitting clothing

Introduction Video: A short spoken introduction telling us about yourself, your training, and why you’d like to join INAA.
